Springhead Park, a joint venture between Countryside Properties and Land Securities is the centrepiece of the Thames Gateway regeneration, the first phase of a 250,000 new homes scheme. The 27ha site comprises of 740 residential units and associated facilities including a district centre, neighbourhood centres, primary schools, a community church, parkland and open space.
With sustainability at the core of the design, clarkebond is responsible for the delivery of the main estate ground improvement, highway implementation and structural design of the residential units. The overall community plan includes surface water management and innovative utility provision including one of the first residential environment uses of 'fibre to home' technology - a high speed digital service previously reserved for business environment.
At more than 1,000 acres Ebbsfleet Valley will provide up to 10,000 new homes over the next twenty years, together with employment, retail, leisure and other facilities and will create in the region of 20,000 new jobs and around 400 acres of new parks, lakes, woodland and open space.
