Royal William Yard

Working closely with the South West Regional Development Agency (SWRDA) and the heritage architect, clarkebond provide structural and civil engineering advice for the renovation and repair of this former victualling yard on the banks of the river Tamar.

The site, once the supply stores for the Royal Navy but closed in the 1990s, comprises of Grade I listed buildings and scheduled ancients monuments, considered to be the finest collection of historic maritime buildings in the world.

The complex of warehouse and buildings, over 60,000m2 underwent a series of inspections, appraising the condition of the stone, timber, cast and wrought iron work determining works requiring the minimum of intervention and most sympathetic repair.
