Clarkebond worked with the developers BeLa Partnership from the early planning stages of this £12bn, 385ha development in Corby providing engineering design and management for over £100m of infrastructure.

Located on a derelict and abandoned site north east of Corby works included the design of access roads and bridges, several kilometres of spine roads, utility services and major earthworks. Key was the negotiation with local authorities and the legal agreement and establishment of multi-million pound contracts for the delivery of the gas, electricity, water and telecommunications.

When complete the site will include 5,100 homes, health facilities, three schools, an academy, district centre, extensive commercial and recreational areas and a network of cycle and pedestrian facilities linked to a new public transport services.

Clarkebond Building Surveying department are undertaking the role of Compliance Monitoring Surveyor for the Building for Life (and general technical) requirements of the development.  The role involves construction monitoring and reporting on matters such as compliance with design and specifications including compliance with the 'Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3', 'Building for Life' and overall handover of the properties on completion.
