Civil Engineering Apprentice
Exeter – Starting salary £8,800 per annum
Clarkebond are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to join their team in the Exeter based office. This role would suit somebody with an interest in construction and engineering and an ambition to progress onto higher education. You will be primarily engaged in CAD, REVIT and supporting the production of plans, designs and documentation for our associated projects across the South West .
In addition, you will print copies of drawings, correspondence and other documents, undertake necessary filing, archiving and utilise your IT skills to assist with compiling reports.
You will initially attend Exeter college on a day release basis to study the BTEC level 3 Construction and the Built environment and level 3 NVQ Diploma Civil Engineering for Technicians, as well as benefit from the coaching and guidance of our experienced Chartered Engineers. We encourage progression onto higher education up to and including degree level.
You may also attend site on occasion to view or inspect demolition works and construction in order to gain an understanding of the construction process and ideally see the projects you have been working on coming to life; and attend meetings under the supervision of Project Engineers or Senior Technician.

Our ideal apprentice will have:
Good numeracy (GCSE Maths grade C or level 4 or equivalent)
GCSE grade C or level 4 English and a Science/ Design and Technology subject
A passion for mathematics and IT
A good eye for detail
An interest in construction and engineering
A strong desire to undertake personal development
A willingness to work outside on site, including ascending scaffold etc from time to time in order to gain further understanding of building construction.
