Woodberry Down, Lyme Regis
Clarkebond prepared Transport Assessments and Residential Travel Plans to accompany planning applications for phases 1 and 2 of residential development on the edge of the compact town of Lyme Regis in Devon. Phase 1 comprises 47 units and phase 2 comprises 56 units.
The Phase 1 scheme, which achieved planning permission in 2014, involved obtaining access from an existing street, Pine Ridge which connects to the A3052 Charmouth Road and changing the priority of the narrow Colway Lane so that it now gives way to Pine Ridge. The Phase 2 development is accessed from the Phase 1 access road.
Accessibility assessment demonstrated that a large number of education, employment, health, leisure and shopping facilities including the town centre were in comfortable walking distance. The site also benefits from regular bus services that use the A3052 Charmouth Road.
