Principal Geotechnical Engineer

£37-45,000- per annum               Bristol, BS1              Permanent

Based on Bristol’s historic harbourside and close to the home to Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s SS Great Britain, Clarkebond are an established NCE top 100 mulit-disciplinary consultancy.  We are now seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our friendly team.   

The role:

You will provide geotechnical / geoenvironmental services on projects of varying sizes and nature, working closely with colleagues in civil, structural and transport disciplines to provide geotechnical guidance. 

Our Principal Engineer will:

  • Have a relevant degree such as Geology or equivalent

  • Be chartered or actively working towards chartership.

  • Be a Fellow of the Geological society or equivalent.

  • Be technically competent in geotechnical engineering and assessment, have knowledge of CIRIA, BRE, British Standards, Building Regulations etc.

  • Have significant geotechnical experience, having gained knowledge of advising foundation solutions, slope stability, retaining walls etc.

  • Be able to scope, deliver and write interpretive reports for geotechnical investigations.

  • Have experience of managing projects and dealing directly with clients.

  • Enjoy sharing knowledge and best practice and be able to develop and coach less experienced members of the team.

  • Be able to deliver to meet our client’s needs and to quality and health and safety standards.
