Works underway at residential scheme in Dorset

Work has started on site for the first phase of a 600+ unit residential development for Bloor Homes in Wimborne, Dorset, following approval of a reserved matters planning application.

Outline planning permission for the overall scheme was granted earlier last year.  A multidisciplinary team of Clarkebond engineers subsequently worked on reserved matters and the detailed design for a reserved matters planning application, including the infrastructure required for the addition of a school and local centre, which was submitted late last year.

Wimborne Chase is divided into two – the Western and the Eastern developments each of which will incorporate a mix of over 300 two, three and four bedroom homes and will be developed in phases.

Clarkebond has provided civil, structural, geotechnical, drainage and highways engineering services for the scheme

The development is on a hilly Greenfield site which has required the provision of surface water attenuation and a foul pumping station together with provision of two new accesses into each of western and eastern development areas, under an s278 agreement. These accesses and an extension of the current 30 mph speed limit form part of the improvements works to the road that sits centrally between the two development parcels.
