Trowbridge retail scheme moving forward

A new retail development on the edge of Trowbridge in Wiltshire has taken a step forward with the completion of the foundation stage of construction.  The 2,652 sq m scheme, comprising several retail units, including an M&S Simply Food store, Subway, Pizza outlet, and a Toby pub/restaurant, is on track for completion before the end of 2016.

Clarkebond are providing various engineering design services on the development including foundations, infrastructure, drainage, access routes, pedestrian footbridge and general external works.

The scheme aims to develop the Cradle Bridge site, previously a derelict toiletries factory building, into a thriving hub. Works also include the construction of a new pedestrian bridge over the River Bliss to link the site with adjacent St Stephens Place leisure facilities in line with the local authority plan. The scheme aims to achieve a high BREEAM rating for sustainable design and construction.
