Clarke Bond designs Kazakhstan hotel
The new building a simple repetitive structural grid is designed to enable a high level of prefabrication for speed of construction, and cost and quality control. Its contemporary style is reflected in the facade design - an insulated metal cladding system of simple panels with inset glazing.
At ground level the reception and public areas are defined by a steel framed, aluminium faced canopy and thin frame glazing maximising the levels of natural light internally and linking to the external environment and terraced cafe beyond.
Clarke Bond is commissioned as structural and civil engineers and is project managing the scheme to completion. The design team includes Carey Jones (architects), Hoare Lea (mechanical and electrical engineeers) and Lee Wakeman (cost consultant).
