Growth leads to key appointments and promotions at Clarkebond

Following a year that has seen turnover and headcount increase by 20%, a number of further key appointments and promotions have been made at multidisciplinary engineering consultancy Clarkebond across their UK offices.

"The company has gone from strength to strength over the last 5 years”, states John Pavey, Executive Director.  “Alongside our core skills of civil, structural and ground engineering, we now have well established successful Transport Planning, Flood Risk and Hydrology and Façade Engineering teams. We are now looking forward to the next phase in our growth and have created a structure that will enable that growth.”

Max Thurgood, previously Civil Engineering Director, Bristol, has been promoted to Head of the Bristol office.  Max has been with Clarkebond for 7 years, and has been responsible for establishing Clarkebond’s Transport Planning, Flood Risk and Hydrology teams in Bristol.

Neil Marks, Head of the Exeter Office, has been made Commercial Director with responsibility for review of major bids, contractual and other legal matters.  Neil has been with Clarkebond for 5 years, and has established Clarkebond in Exeter as one of the leading regional consultancies.

Two key appointments have been made in the Bristol office to develop and grow the existing team. John Hurst joins as Principal Infrastructure Engineer bringing his extensive knowledge gained over 30 years to the team, and an Associate for the structural engineering team has been appointed and will join in June.

These appointments follow that of Omar Al-Omar, a specialist façade engineer, who was appointed earlier in the year to lead the Façade Engineering team from the Clarkebond London office.

“We work with some really great clients,” comments John Pavey, “Our aim is always to have good long standing relationships with those clients as a result of excellent customer service and technical skills.  These key appointments and promotions will ensure that we continue to do this as we grow.”

Clarkebond have worked on a number of landmark award winning projects over the last 12 months including the design of the tallest building in Wales, the Erith Park regeneration project in the London Borough of Bexley, an ambitious, award winning project to build houses on top of an in-filled quarry on the outskirts of Bristol, and the Market Hall Development in Plymouth.
