Clarkebond transport expert appointed to Sustainable Transport Panel

Clarkebond’s Head of Transport Planning, David Knight, has been appointed to the Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation (CHIT) Sustainable Transport Panel.

The panel was set up to promote accessibility and sustainability in travel through good transport and town planning, behavioural change, education and demand management techniques.  The panel draws together experts in all these fields and looks to influence policy and thinking at a national and local level.

A recognised authority on many aspects of transport and development and a long-time advocate of a sustainable approach to transport planning, David’s expertise has been gained over 25 years in senior positions in leading transport planning practices. In addition to being a member of the CIHT, David holds the Transport Planning Professional qualification and is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Logistics and Transport.  He has been an active contributor to travel planning best practice through his work on site specific advice panels, industry recognised training courses and master’s degree course lecturing.

“I am delighted to have joined this influential panel”, comments David.  “My day job is supporting the delivery of sustainable development so it will be good to be able give development a voice on this panel and input to initiatives that seek to improve transport sustainability”.
