Clarkebond signs up to WISE’s 10 Steps
Clarkebond has formalised its commitment to recruit, retain and develop women in engineering by becoming a signatory to the WISE 10 Steps framework.
Women are still very much in a minority in science technology, engineering and manufacturing businesses. The WISE campaign was set up in 2014 to address this and to ensure that women have the same opportunities to progress in their career as their male counterparts.
By becoming a signatory to the 10 Steps framework, Clarkebond is making a public commitment to improve conditions for women working in the STEM workforce as an essential part of the campaign to attract more girls into the sector.
The 10 Steps of the framework represent a step-change for the sector and have all been identified for their potential to drive company performance; they are more than simply ‘good management practice’.
“We have always considered ourselves to be equal opportunities employers, but we recognise that there is more we should be doing to positively encourage women to join our industry and our company. We are committed to taking the Ten Steps forward into our business,” comments Martin Hathaway, Director, Clarkebond
