RICS recognition for Clarkebond project

The Research, Innovation, Learning and Development Centre (RILD) in Exeter, where cutting edge studies into diabetes are undertaken, has been nominated for a prestigious RICS award in the category ‘Design Through Innovation’.  Winners will be announced on Friday 15th May at an awards dinner at the Grand by Thistle in Bristol.

Clarkebond provided civil and structural engineering design for the £27.5m RILD centre which has already been shortlisted for two awards at the forthcoming Michelmores Western Morning News Property Awards 2014.  The RILD centre has been developed by The University of Exeter and the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust (RD&E), in partnership with the Peninsula Medical School (PMS) as a centre for excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate clinical education training and research and includes a medical research facility part-funded by the Wellcome Trust and the Wolfson Foundation.

“The awards showcase the South West's top projects and celebrate the most inspirational regional initiatives and developments in land, property and construction.  This iconic building, with which we are proud to be associated, is well deserving of this recognition,” said Clarkebond Director, Neil Marks (right). “
