Clarkebond appoints new Director
Clarkebond has appointed James Grant as Associate Director based in its Exeter offices. James was previously with Hyder Consulting based in their Plymouth office, working on a broad range of projects across all sectors.
Having worked in the Southwest for 15 years, and being a graduate of Exeter University, James has a in depth knowledge of the area and has been involved in some landmark projects that include the Peninsula Medical School in Truro, Penwith and Truro Colleges and South Devon College. Most recently James was on the design team for the new Cornwall Council office project in Bodmin.
James’s role at Clarkebond will be to focus on delivering elegant and value enhancing engineering solutions to building projects for an increasing client base. A Chartered Engineer, James is a member of both the Institute of Civil Engineers and the Institute of Structural Engineers.
This appointment is one of several in Clarkebond’s Exeter office where recent new recruits also include a specialist in Flood Risk Assessments. Mercedes Uden, a highly experienced hydraulic modeller has joined to strengthen the Clarkebond pre-planning engineering services offer and Steven Boland has also joined as a new graduate.

Continuing growth and a strong forward order book has seen Clarkebond increase its turnover and headcount by more than 20% over the last 12 months with more appointments planned in the coming weeks.
