Assam Place Student Accommodation, London
After a number of years of planning and building, Assam Place is now complete and ready for occupation.
This project involved the demolition of existing building and structures on site and the redevelopment for mixed use purposes.
The redevelopment comprised of a new 18 storey building (stepping down to 7, 5, 4 & 2 storey), providing 360 student accommodation units. It also included the refurbishment and conversion of Assam Street Grade II listed warehouse to provide 24 student accommodation units, and the refurbishment of a Grade II listed brewery to provide commercial space (A1/B1/D1 usage); Retained facades to two Commercial Road elevations and new build commercial space (A1/B1/D1 usage).
Clarkebond were responsible for structural, civil and geoenvironmental engineering elements that included significant basement works, party wall issues, development of pre-cast columns and edge details to speed up construction.
