Glebe Farm, Minchinhampton
Clarkebond prepared a Transport Assessment and Residential Travel Plan to accompany a hybrid planning application, a detailed application for 150 residential dwellings and an outline planning application for a GP Surgery, for a site on the edge of the small market town of Minchinhampton in Gloucestershire. The Transport Assessment included accessibility analysis, traffic forecasting and assessment of the impact of the proposed development on critical existing junctions. A detailed assessment of the operation of the town centre crossroads and informal road narrowings in the existing narrow streets off the town centre was carried out.
A package of mitigation measures was proposed to improve accessibility of pedestrian, cyclists and public transport users associated with the development and reduce the impact of traffic increases. The package included junction improvements, pedestrian route enhancements and a town centre improvement scheme. Although the planning application was later withdrawn, the findings of our technical work were agreed with the highway authority.
