The Point, Leeds

A landmark project in Leeds for Morley Fund Management comprising a semi-basement car park with car stackers, 130,000sq ft of mixed retail/leisure and office accommodation over four floors and a 19 storey residential tower.

The site, located on one of the busiest junctions in the centre of Leeds, was originally occupied by a rather tired 1960s office development with a podium and 16 storey tower.

The scheme retained the reinforced concrete tower structure, fully recladding it and adding a 3 storeys on top to give 19 storeys of residential accommodation.

The original podium structure was demolished and replaced with a new 5 storey steel and concrete structure. The structural grid was informed by the requirements of the semi-basement car park layout.
