Ffos Las Racecourse

Ffos Las Racecourse is Wales' third racecourse and the first National Hunt Racecourse to be built in the UK for over 80 years.  Located on a former 600 acre open cast mine in Trimsaran, Carmarthenshire, South Wales, the £20m project comprises a one and half mile National Hunt and flat race track.

Opened in June 2009 works included the design of the technical buildings, a 5000m2  stable block and circulation space, 750mweighing room, 1000mtwo storey stable staff accommodation and a gatehouse and entrance, and the grandstand which hold up to 1000 spectators, covered by a 10m clear span cantilevered roof, linking to a 4000mtwo storey hospitality facility.

Future development of the site will create a training base for use by competitors at the London 2012 olympics.
