Clarke Bond wins CityWest Homes development in Paddington
Clarke Bond has been appointed as structural engineer for the design of Dudley House in Paddington Basin, is a residential scheme (a mix of private and public housing) comprising three tower blocks (10-16 storeys in height) accommodating 206 residential units of varying size.
The proposals for the design include a single storey basement, covering the full area of the site, bound by Wharf Road to the south and west and the Munkenbeck & Marshall building to the north and east. A ground floor podium slab suspended over the basement below links the three blocks together providing public space and allowing access to the blocks and the commercial/community units at ground floor.
Located close to the Regent's canal and Paddington station the constrained site is occupied by post war buildings which will be demolished. The final scheme will be designed to meet the requirements of Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4, as a mininum.
